Using TRON energy rental
Rent energy instead of burning TRX to cut the cost of TRC20 transfers:
- With no energy, the network burns your TRX to cover a transfer — the most expensive route. Renting lends energy to the sending address instead
- The console quotes against a reference of 65,000 energy for 1 hour and shows burning TRX next to renting
- An order takes three things: the TRON address receiving the energy, a rental period (1 hour by default) and an energy amount
- Entering a pre-transfer address lets the system estimate what the transfer really needs and suggest a figure, so you buy neither too much nor too little
- Energy is rented by period and reclaimed automatically at the end with no refund on the unused part; failed orders are refunded to your balance
Frequently Asked Questions
Is energy rented to my account or to an address?
To the TRON address you enter. Energy is an address-level resource unrelated to your platform account, so the address must be correct.
How much energy should I rent?
Use the pre-transfer estimate on the order page: enter the address the funds will come from and the system calculates what the transfer actually needs and suggests a figure.
